  40 <p>This function converts a <b><font face="Courier New">charstring</font></b> value to a <b><font face="Courier New">bitstring</font></b>, where each character represents the value of one bit in
  41 the resulting <b><font face="Courier New">bitstring</font></b>. Its argument may contain the characters "0" or "1" only, otherwise the result is a dynamic test case error.
