MIPS: malta: Fix GIC interrupt offsets

The GIC interrupt offsets are calculated based on the value of NR_CPUS.
However, this is wrong because NR_CPUS may or may not contain the real

Mika Westerberg [Wed, 30 Oct 2013 12:40:36 +0000 (14:40 +0200)]
Revert "ACPI / hotplug / PCI: Avoid doing too much for spurious notifies"

Commit 2dc4128 (ACPI / hotplug / PCI: Avoid doing too much for
spurious notifies) changed the enable_slot() to check return value of
pci_scan_slot() and if it is zero return early from the function. It
means that there were no new devices in this particular slot.

However, if a device appeared deeper in the hierarchy the code now
ignores it causing things like Thunderbolt chaining fail to recognize
new devices.

The problem with Alex Williamson's machine was solved with commit
a47d8c8 (ACPI / hotplug / PCI: Avoid parent bus rescans on spurious
device checks) and hence we should be able to restore the original
functionality that we always rescan on bus check notification.

On a device check notification we still check what acpiphp_rescan_slot()
returns and on zero bail out early.

Revert "select: use freezable blocking call"

This reverts commit 9745cdb36da8 (select: use freezable blocking call)
that triggers problems during resume from suspend to RAM on Paul Bolle's
32-bit x86 machines.  Paul says:

  Ever since I tried running (release candidates of) v3.11 on the two
  working i686s I still have lying around I ran into issues on resuming
  from suspend. Reverting 9745cdb36da8 (select: use freezable blocking
  call) resolves those issues.

  Resuming from suspend on i686 on (release candidates of) v3.11 and
  later triggers issues like:

  traps: systemd[1] general protection ip:b738e490 sp:bf882fc0 error:0 in libc-2.16.so[b731c000+1b0000]

  and

  traps: rtkit-daemon[552] general protection ip:804d6e5 sp:b6cb32f0 error:0 in rtkit-daemon[8048000+d000]

  Once I hit the systemd error I can only get out of the mess that the
  system is at that point by power cycling it.

Since we are reverting another freezer-related change causing similar
problems to happen, this one should be reverted as well.

Tony Lindgren [Tue, 22 Oct 2013 13:49:48 +0000 (06:49 -0700)]
serial: omap: Add support for optional wake-up

With the recent pinctrl-single changes, omaps can treat
wake-up events from deeper idle states as interrupts.

There's a separate "io chain" controller on most omaps
that stays enabled when the device hits off-idle and the
regular interrupt controller is powered off.

Let's add support for the optional second interrupt for
wake-up events. And then serial-omap can manage the
wake-up interrupt from it's runtime PM calls to avoid
spurious interrupts during runtime.

Note that the wake interrupt is board specific as it
uses the UART RX pin, and for omap3, there are six pin
options for UART3 RX pin.

Also Note that the legacy platform based booting handles
the wake-ups in the legacy mux driver and does not need to
pass the wake-up interrupt to the driver.

And finally, to pass the wake-up interrupt in the dts file,
either interrupt-map or the pending interrupts-extended
property needs to be passed. It's probably best to use
interrupts-extended when it's available.

association using sysfs_dirent->s_attr.open.  This is buggy because
->s_bin_attr lives in the same union and doesn't have the field.  This
bug doesn't trigger because sysfs_elem_bin_attr doesn't have an active

it isn't used anymore.

10 years agostaging: comedi: s626: expand standardized IndxSrc values
Ian Abbott [Mon, 21 Oct 2013 09:10:37 +0000 (10:10 +0100)]
staging: comedi: s626: expand standardized IndxSrc values

The 'IndxSrc' value for the standardized encoder setup is currently 1
bit wide and takes one of the following values:

  S626_INDXSRC_HARD = 0 // index source from hardware encoder
  S626_INDXSRC_SOFT = 1 // index source software controlled by IndxPol

However the hardware 'IndxSrcA' and 'IndxSrcB' values for the 'A' and
'B' counters are 2 bits wide.  The above standardized values 0 and 1
correspond to the hardware values 0 and 2.

In order to simplify conversions between the standardized values and
hardware values, expand the range of standardized values to cover all
four possible values.  The new values are as follows:

  S626_INDXSRC_ENCODER = 0  // index source from hardware encoder
  S626_INDXSRC_DIGIN = 1    // index source from digital inputs
  S626_INDXSRC_SOFT = 2     // index source s/w controlled by IndxPol
  S626_INDXSRC_DISABLED = 2 // index source disabled

(Note the change in value for `S626_INDXSRC_SOFT` and the replacement of
`S626_INDXSRC_HARD` with `S626_INDXSRC_ENCODER` for consistency with the

staging: ft1000: status variables changed to int in ft1000_download.c

Linux uses a return type of int for status codes. The file
ft1000_download.c uses a mixture of u16 and u32. This patch changes all
variables called status or Status to ints, whether they are returned
from the function or not. It also changes the return type of all
functions returning one of the variables to correspond. Also, the
declaration of scram_dnldr has been changed in ft1000_usb.h.
